Vegetables nutrition on the Secrets of Garlic
Vegetables nutrition on Garlic and diet
On this post of vegetables nutrition i would like to re-introduce the well known garlic. It is a well respected member of the onion family, and it is more controversial then you might think. While most of us know its flavour and use it for eating, only some of us know of its place in the world of medicine. It’s true, that it is common knowledge that it has some medicinal uses, but it is not that common that people actually know what these purposes are. There are different views on the subject from different doctors throughout the centuries. Some recommend it daily, others say it must not be eaten. Some claim it should be eaten like any other medicinal herb – in time of need. I, for one, vote for the last group, as i have seen garlics ability to heal, prevent, and stop the worsening of diseases when it is placed in our diet in the right place and time.
Vegetables Nutrition – Garlic and healing
My focus here on this vegetables nutrition post is going to be the healing effects of garlic. Here is a list of healing potential garlic holds:
- Garlic is an antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal, and so if eaten in case of a mild viral attack on the body, effects should be positive.
- Cholesterol cleaner. Garlic can help us rid of the plaque on the walls of our arteries, thus helping us avoid heart diseases and cva.
- Fighting the flu. It has anti-cough and flew resisting materials that incourage our immune system and helps it push the flu out of the body
- Breaking platelet aggregation, which can cause blood clots and lead to a stroke (among other things)
- Prevents diabetes complications. It reduces blood sugar levels, and may help preventing some of the complication that may appear in diabetic.
Garlic actually has much more to it, and I will probably devote another post to it, as i haven’t touched the tip of the iceberg on this amazing little thing.
Vegetables nutrition – a word of warning!
If there is something I must remind us all, it is this – Medicine shouldn’t be played with! Garlic has so many medicinal properties, and it could be so potent at times, that it is actually a dangerous material to some of us. For example, if you have dietetics and are receiving prescription drugs, large amounts of garlic might be dangerous for you, as it is similar to mixing drugs. Any medicinal herb must be eaten cautiously, and with the full understanding of its abilities. The most important thing when eating garlic, or any other potent nature-made matter, is knowing how to listen to the body. Be attentive, and don’t over use it. To much of anything is not good, and it is so much more important when we introduce garlic into our diet.
I hope i didn’t scare you away from garlic in this last paragraph, but having a balanced diet is one thing, and overdosing on garlic is another. I promise to sink my teeth deeper into this subject so we will understand just what and how to use this magnificent bulb, on the next post of vegetables nutrition.
