vegetables nutrition: More on food combining
So far we have learned a couple of very important rules of the food combining basics, ones that should help us fine tune our vegetables nutrition based diet and help our digestion do it’s job smoothly giving us best results in the form of a healthy nutrient absorption rate, no discomfort before, during or after a meal, and an energy full body. let’s remember these basics, as they are super important – one was to avoid mixing carbohydrates with proteins, and the other was to avoid mixing of fruits and vegetables in the same meal. i hope we all try our best to do so, and feel the results right away!
We are ready for yet another basic rule to better our digestion, and so today we will have a few words about the mixing, or actually the non-mixing of protein-rich foods, such as seeds & nuts, with any food at all. while we already know and feel the result of not mixing those foods with carbs, i want to give a stricter rule for us to try, and again, listen to our bodies for the results. what happens is that by eating the proteins in the end of a meal, as it is the costume in many cultures, they sit there and ferment, because the easier to digest foods will usually be taking over. the stomach will not be acidic enough, and thus leaving us with all that extra protein just sitting around there. if we do that mix on regular bases, we might end up thinking we are eating a well balanced vegetables nutrition based diet, while we actually lack the amount of protein needed for a healthy function of the body.
“When SHOULD we eat our proteins then??” we are all rightfully asking. well, the best way to eat protein-rich foods such as seeds & nuts, beans & lentils (and all other legumes), yogurt, peanut butter, and to those still eating meat and dairy products, it all should be eaten in the beginning of the meal, or better off as a separate meal all together.
To sum up – the best way to eat protein-rich food in our vegetables nutrition based diet is completely separated from any other food! let the acid needed for the job do the job, and later on eat your carbs and veggies.
