Q: Are green vegetables good for me?
A: In one word – “YES”. To explain this a little further we need to understand that vegetables hold some of natures greatest gifts, in the form of minerals and vitamins, and adding them to our daily diet can provide us with many of the nutrients we need, from low portions of food. They are good for many of the most common diseases of modern society:

  • Diabetes
  • Chronic or acute constipation
  • Gas
  • Other Metabolic related syndromes
  • low energy (Chronic fatigue syndrome)
  • High blood pressure

and the list goes on and on.

Q: What Are  the most common Green Vegetables?
A: The most common are Lettuce, Cucumber, Cabbage, Broccoli, Green bell peppers and green onions. But the list is much longer then this, and you can find far less known and common greens such as Bok choy, Arugula, Spring beans, Asparagus, and many more. There is a list in this post of green vegetables that offers far more options and names for these great veggies.

Q: Are green vegetables good for losing weight?

A: ABSOLUTELY YES! Losing weight is far easier with green vegetables as a part of our menu, for a few reasons. It helps bowel movement, and encourages it. This means that the food moves through the system and out, clearing out the stagnation that sag in our belly. Its high fiber content helps not only in moving the bowels, but in moving fat out of the stomach and the digestive system, and that means that by eating green vegetables, we are clearing out old fat, and helping the body deal better with new fat coming in from our food. Another aspect by which greens help us lose weight is that high fiber content creates a sensation of a satisfied stomach, and we simply are not as hungry as before. This means we eat less, which is the first and most important criteria in weight loss (*Healthy weight loss – for those who need it to handle pathologies, or lose REAL extra weight).

Q: Can green vegetables solve constipation?
A: YES! Eating greens is a great and safe way to stop constipation, clear out the stagnated bowels, and help us get relief from this common frustration. There is a post here I wrote a while ago about the subject of solving constipation. You are more then invited to read the Short list of useful to-the-point information on how to deal with this problem, and greens are a part of the solution.

Q: Can green vegetables clean the liver?
A: YES. Green vegetables are a major process in the modern nutrition way for cleaning the liver. Not only do they have many nutrients that help the liver do his job and clean the blood and break down toxins in the body, but they also manifest the color, the energy and the season that represents the Wood element – which hosts the liver as its main organ.

Q:  Is eating green vegetables sufficient for a diet?
A: No! It is wrong to eat only green veggies and avoiding many other good and healthy foods out there. Every here and there comes a new trend or a new wave of diets, and some weird concept about how health should really look like. A word of warning: anything extreme is not good. If someone is trying to sell you a “whole green diet”, just say no. Even if it has done him or her wonders, it does not mean it will do the same for you, and the thing is, you cannot tell until it is too late. Eat as many greens as you feel you need hunger wise, and do it as a part of your diet, not your entire diet.
